My learning partner has an older brother who has down syndrome. My learning partner has always grown up with this goofy loving brother who is about 5 years older than him. Even though he is the younger brother, my learning partner has been accustomed to taking care of his older brother through various forms of responsibilities. Whether it is helping him navigate his way emotionally/socially/physically, or reminding him of foods he cannot eat because he is allergic, or watching out for him in protective ways, my learning partner knows how to be a younger and older sibling. Both boys get along well with each other as they have wild imaginations, have always shared a bedroom, and play games together. Of course they are brothers and know how to 'push each others' buttons' but over the years I can see that both boys are maturing and continue to grow closer together as brothers and friends.
"Hey Josh what do you think of your brother?"-me

"When he sees me he is happy"-Josh
